Mary Lucille Harris, 85, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 in Vinita, Oklahoma. Lucille was born in Big Cabin, Oklahoma on September 15, 1922, to George H. and Margaret (Horn) Compston. Lucille spent her working life as a waitress, working in the Vinita Hotel and the Grand, which was owned by Archie Wilson. Later she completed beauty college and was the owner and operator of Lucille's Beauty Shop. Lucille was a giving person, and was active in the Emmanuel Temple Church. She loved children, including her own four grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, and taught her grandchildren how to bake pies. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Harris, her brother, Ray Compston, her sister, Lizzie Crouch and her brother-in-law, Max Crouch. She is survived by her two step-sons; Wesley Harris of Heber Springs, Arkansas and Wyman Harris and his wife Gaye, of Belvedere, California. Also surviving are her four grandchildren, Stephanie, Lisa, Bryan and Darrin. Her nieces, Sue Buzzard of Vinita and Robbie Dockery and husband Joe of Big Cabin, along with great-niece Cheryl Butler and husband Bill of Miami, OK, and great-nephew Brent Warren of Vinita, OK also survive Lucille. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita, Oklahoma. Pastor Bruce Butler will preside.
