Lucille Osburn Tolbert, 92 year old longtime Vinita resident, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. She was born October 24, 1920 in Elgin, Kansas to Charlie L. and Ruth H. (McGee) Osburn. Lucille graduated from Cleora High School, then attended Connors State College and finished her schooling at Bartlesville Wesleyan College. She had worked for the Soil Conservation office after going to Connors, until taking a job with Phillips Petroleum in 1947. Lucille was a certified professional secretary for Phillips for forty years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, and had served as a Sunday School teacher in Vinita and Bartlesville when living there. Lucille assisted many missionaries with their state side communications over the years. She also enjoyed quilting and sewing, and serving as a Cherry Red at the hospital. Lucille was married to Benjamin H. Tolbert in May of 1965, he preceded her in death on July 20, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Leland "Chick" Osburn, Lois Maples, W. T. "Dub" Osburn and Ralph Osburn. The family includes: sisters, Loy Mae Brown of Owasso, Marilyn J. Horn of Vinita; brother, Glenn C. Osburn and wife Ann of Vinita; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. The funeral for Lucille will be held Friday February 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery.
