Luciretta Rainwater, 83, of Nowata passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center. She was born on March 12, 1929 at Diamond Point, west of Nowata to William Edgar and Effie A. (Smith) Tatum. Lucy grew up in the Childers area and was a graduate of Childers High School. She went to work for Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Lucy met Harry Rainwater and the couple married February 27, 1948 at Nowata. The Rainwaters made their home in Nowata since that time. Lucy was a member of Nowata's First Church of God. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family and sending them cards. Lucy loved watching her ballgames, especially when OSU was playing. Lucy is survived by her husband, Harry Rainwater of the home; three children, Karen Grace Rainwater of Nowata, Claude Aaron Rainwater and wife Peggy of Nowata, Mary Janette Alexander and husband John, Sr. of Nowata; two sisters, Barbara Grace Geller and husband Jack of Bartlesville, Hazel Louise Jacobs and husband Lloyd of Oologah; seven grandchildren, John P. Alexander, Jr., Joseph P. Alexander, Christy Horner, Brooke Davis, Shauna Parrish, Jessica Ferguson, Lucas Floyd, and nine great grandchildren. Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, William and Effie Tatum; a brother, William Paul Tatum; three sisters, Bonnie Inman, Joan Teel, and Betty Sue Roller.
