Lucy Downing

Lucy May Downing, 97 year old Grove, Oklahoma resident passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013. Lucy was born on March 6, 1916, in the Grove, Oklahoma area, to John and Betty (Scott) Keen. She was married to William Luther Downing. Lucy was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking fishing and gardening. Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, William Luther Downing, her parents John and Betty Keen, two sisters, Ada Brundridge of Jay, Oklahoma, Alline Blevins of Grove, Oklahoma, and one brother, Howard Keen of Grove, Oklahoma. She is survived by three nieces, Goldie Downing of Jay, Oklahoma, Trudy Craker of Neosho, Missouri, and Wanda Jean Brundridge of Jay, Oklahoma; two nephews, Donald Brundridge of Grove, Oklahoma, and Monty Blevins of Bluejacket, Oklahoma; a host of great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held, Thursday, April 18, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at Dennis Cemetery in Zena, Oklahoma. Jim York to officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma.
