Lula Goins

Lula Mae (Gordon) Goins, 80 year old lifetime resident of Jay, passed away on September 26, 2017 at the Grand Lake Villa in Grove, Oklahoma. Lula was born on July 23, 1937 in Jay, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Edward Carrol "Kay" and Elsie (Cunningham) Gordon. Lula helped raise half the children in the Jay area, running a day care out of her home for many years. She also worked as a Jailer for the Sheriff's Department and as a dietician. Lula collected rocks from all over the United States and even had some from other countries, she enjoyed gardening; especially flowers, bird watching and Sudoku puzzles. Lula was preceded in death by her parents K and Elsie Gordon, and her brother Dowe Gordon. She will be dearly missed by her three sons; Dale Goins of Jay; Randy Goins (Sid) of Salina and Rick Goins (Destini) of Jay; her two daughters Lycretia Goins of Jay and Darla Miller (Greg) of Welch; two brothers Gene Gordon (Linda) of Jay and David Gordon (Sherry) of Claremore. Lula was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm, Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Lula's Home; 10575 E 464 Road, Jay, Oklahoma. Memorial donations can be made in Lula's name to the American Cancer Society, The Ronald McDonald House, The Shiners' or the charity of your choice.
