Lula Pearl Woods, 71, a resident of Colcord passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at the Quail Ridge Living Center. Mrs. Woods was born on May 1, 1939 in Jay, Oklahoma to William Jess and Fannie (McGee) Rutherford. Lula married her loving husband of fifty-two years on December 20, 1957 in Miami, Oklahoma, Donald Woods. The Woods moved back to the Delaware County area in 1978. Mrs. Woods loved to sew, make quilts and did lots of canning from vegetables the family grew in their garden. Lula was preceded in death by her parents William and Fannie Rutherford and one daughter Judith Ann Woods. Survivors include her husband Donald Woods of the home, five children; Rose Williamson, Carol Baker, Debra Woods all of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Steven Woods of Arkansas and Michael Woods of Ada, Oklahoma, her surviving brothers and sisters are Charles Rutherford, Lillie Thompson, Louise Frye, Bill Rutherford, Russell Rutherford along with seven grandchildren. Visitation for Lula is on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Chamberlain Community Center in Colcord with Reverend Darrell Self and Reverend Conley Chesney officiating. Interment will be at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Jay, Oklahoma.
