M. Moreland

M. Joline Moreland, passed away at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa, OK, on Friday, August 31, 2012 at the age of 85. Joline was born November 12, 1926 Around Graham, TX, the daughter of the late Merritt Stewart and Hazel (Wilcox) Stewart. Joline grew up in Texas and New Mexico. While working for the Phillips Petroleum Company, Joline meet and eventually married Howard Chester Moreland on April 6, 1947 in Carlsbad, NM. She and Howard raised two sons Jerry Moreland and Tom Moreland. During this time, the family moved with the Phillips Company to various places including Odessa, TX and Bartlesville, OK. After the kids left home, Joline and Howard traveled with Phillips for the next 10 years working in Puerto Rico, West Africa, England, and Germany. After Howard's retirement, they moved to the Grove area where they resided on Monkey Island. Joline was involved in PEO and the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and being with her friends and family. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and one granddaughter Julie. She is survived by her two sons: Tom Moreland and his wife Ann, and Jerry Moreland his wife Sue; and six grandchildren: Gary Moreland, Mike Moreland, Angela Begle, Ali Moreland, Katy Walz, and Kristen Walz. The funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 10AM with Rev. Randall Hamill, presiding. The burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK at 1:30 p.m. The family will greet friends from 6PM to 8PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK.
