WORLEY-LUGINBUEL FUNERAL HOME - JAY, OKLAHOMA - 918-253-3222. Mable Belle Kennedy, 96 year old resident of Jay, Oklahoma, passed away on May 7, 2019.
Mable was born on October 2, 1922 in rural Delaware County. She was the loving daughter of Ben and Ethel (Cooper) Howe. Mable Belle had many nick names, DooDoo and Bud and Nanny. She was united in marriage to Joe Kennedy in 1940 and then graduated from Jay High School. Mable was a longtime member of the Mt. Hermon Church where she played both the piano and organ. Joe and Mable worked side by side raising beef cattle and were in the custom hay bailing business. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and canning food. She was a member of the Jay Historical Society.
Mable was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe Kennedy (2003), her brother John Lee Howe (1975), and her daughter Lana Fox (2018). She is survived by her grandson Darwin Stewart and his wife Cheryl of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, great grandson Sean Patrick Stewart and his wife Katrina, and great-great grandchildren Alexander Patrick Stewart and Luke Henry Stewart. She was also survived by many nieces, and great nephews and nieces.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-7PM Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Jay Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM at the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, Missouri.
