Mae Payton

March 22, 1943 — November 16, 2016

Mae Ruth Payton, age 73, of Bartlesville, OK passed from this life to everlasting life on November 16, 2016. Mae was born on March 22, 1943 in Clayton, OK to Orby E. P. and Ruby Frances (Robertson) White. She was known as Mae or Miss Mae at First Baptist Church where she served as the director of Home Bound Ministry. She was active in the Young at Heart group, attended Bible Study, and WMU. She volunteered at the Family Life Center. Many times, at the county fair, she won first place on her delicious pies of which many near and far have enjoyed. Journey Home, a hospice house in Bartlesville, was a passion of Mae's. She was instrumental in helping to make it a reality and devoted many volunteer hours to its success. One of her beliefs was that "No one should die alone" so she sat by many bedsides as the inevitable occurred to many people. She was a true servant in the name of her Savior. She is survived by son, Dennis Price and his wife, Misty, of Henryetta, OK; daughter, Denise Frazier and her husband, John, of Katy, TX; daughter, Dana Miller and her husband, Brent, of Bartlesville, OK; Stepdaughter, Theresa Butcher and her husband, Larry, of Pawhuska, OK; brother, John Lee White and his wife, Leila, of Burnsville, MN; sister, Glenna Herzer of Jones, OK; and sister-in-law, Charlene White of Normal, IL.
