Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home of Langley, 918-782-4400. Margaret Jane Donelson was born on March 26, 1918 in Portland Indiana to Emma and John McCoy. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, William C. Donelson, who passed away in 2005. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Rogers and her husband Pete, Austin, Texas, daughter Barbara Bond and her husband Roger, Bird Island, Oklahoma, granddaughter Jenny Baird and her husband Darrell, Ledbetter, TX, grandson Guy Rogers and his wife Karen, Austin, Texas, granddaughter Ginni Hobbs, Boston, MA and great grandchildren, Emma Baird, Ledbetter, TX and Ewing Elgin Rogers V, Austin, Texas. Margaret enjoyed an active life filled with many friends and became a part of the many communities where she lived including Portland, IN, Detroit, MI, Dearborn, MI, Toledo, OH, Columbus, OH, Indianapolis, IN, Houston, TX, Tulsa, OK, Conroe, Texas, Peoria, AZ, Bird Island, OK, Vinita, OK and finally at Zarrow Pointe, Tulsa, OK. Margaret was a Buckeye Boys Ranch founding Board member in Columbus, Ohio and continued her interest in that cause at the Tulsa Boys Home where she was a Director, and the Conroe Texas Boys Home where she served as a volunteer. She also served as Chairman of the ICU Volunteers at Saint Francis Hospital, Tulsa and again served as a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital, Phoenix, AZ. Margaret and her husband Bill were avid golfers and enjoyed the game throughout their life. Their vacations often centered on places known for their golf courses and they were always a member of a local course - Scioto Country Club, Columbus Ohio, Champions Golf Club in Houston, Texas, Oaks Country Club in Tulsa, OK, River Plantation Country Club in Conroe, Texas, Sun City West, Westbrook Village, Peoria AZ, and The Coves, Bird Island, Oklahoma. Margaret and her husband were also active in churches in the many towns where they lived. They maintained friends across many states up until the time of their death. Margaret was a wonderful example as a mother and known as gracious and beautiful by everyone who met her. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Employee Fund at Zarrow Pointe, Tulsa, Oklahoma will honor the incredible staff that loved her as their own.
