Margaret Fisher

January 21, 1931 — October 12, 2008

Margaret L. Fisher of Gainesville, Virginia formally of Nowata, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on Sunday October 12, 2008. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday October 17, 2008 in the First United Methodist Church of Nowata with Pastor Tommy Herndon from Manassas, Virginia and Pastor James Perkins officiating. Final committal rites will be accorded Mrs. Fisher in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Home. Margaret Louise was born on January 21, 1931 in Camden, Missouri to Charles and Gertie (Darnell) Young. Margaret resided in Nowata for 74 years during that time she married Bill E. Fisher and raised two children. Margaret was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was part of their women's group. She enjoyed participating in the Home Demonstration Club and the Circle Club. Margaret was a wonderful cook and gardener and she loved to play bridge. She worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell and was the Nowata Middle School principal's secretary before her retirement. Margaret was a very loving, caring person who always put others needs before her own, she was a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Margaret is survived by her two children Bill A. Fisher and his wife Connie of Pesotum, Illinois, and Sally and her husband Mike Strube of Gainesville, Virginia, one sister Jean Jeffus of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, three grandchildren Rachel, Frank, and Stuart Fisher, nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill E. Fisher, her parents Charles and Gertie Young and one sister Lonetta Fisher. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church of Nowata 117 W Shawnee Ave. Nowata, OK 74048
