Margaret Ann Hayes-Reece, 76 year old well known White Oak resident, died early Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Rosewood Terrace Care Center. She was born on August 14, 1936 to Charles Cary and Luella Pearl (Ellsworth) Walker. Margaret attended Shanahan School until eighth grade, then went to high school and graduated from White Oak. She was married to Charles P. Hayes in 1955, he preceded her in death in 1968. Margaret worked at Jack's Cookie Company in Vinita, later she became a rural route carrier for the United States Postal Service and retired from there, she also worked many years in the Craig County Sheriff's office, serving as secretary, dispatcher and deputy, until she retired from there. Margaret married George Reece on May 1, 1999 in White Oak, he survives of the home. Margaret was a member of the White Oak Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Busy Bee Home Extension Club. She enjoyed country and blue grass music, golfing, being outdoors and gardening, most of all she loved her family and being with them. Preceding her in death were her parents, first husband Charles Hayes, brothers, Charles, Leroy, Lewis and Ronald Walker; and one great-grandchild. The family includes: her husband George Reece of the home, children, David Hayes and wife Sandy of White Oak, Debbie Douglas and husband Phil of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Mark Hayes and wife Janalee of White Oak, Teresa Jackson and husband Darrell of Catoosa, Dana Simpson of White Oak; siblings, Alyce Cordray-Green of Vinita, Betty Ewing and husband Bill of Wichita, KS, Dorothy Hanna and husband Tommy of Cleora, Maxine Beisley and husband Willard of Vinita, George Walker of Vinita, Don Walker and wife Vernie of White Oak; twenty-four grandchildren and thirty-seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the White Oak Baptist Church, with Rev. George Vaughn and Rev. Geoff Buffalo officiating.
