Marguerite V. Betz, age 91 and longtime resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away March 22, 2013. Marguerite was born February 12, 1922 in Madill, Oklahoma to Walter P. Bishop and Viola (Blair) Bishop. She attended elementary school in Fox, Oklahoma and graduated from Healdton High School, Healdton, Oklahoma. She also attended Oklahoma Baptist University. She was married to Glendale Betz on April 2, 1943 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They made their home at U.S. Army bases and later moved to Borger, Texas in 1948 where her husband was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company. They first moved to Bartlesville in 1954. The couple then resided in various, including India, England and Germany. Marguerite and Glendale returned to Bartlesville in 1978, where they've since made their home. Marguerite worked as a Stenographer for the U. S. Army and also Phillips Petroleum Company. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was an avid bridge player. Marguerite is survived by her husband, Glendale Betz of the home; two sons, Ron D. Betz of Austin, Texas and Len D. Betz of Los Angeles, California; one brother, J. C. Bishop of Plano, Texas; two granddaughters, Shannon Grace Betz, of New York City, New York and Adrienne Tyler Medley and husband, Christopher of San Antonio, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Ann Medley and Mairead Christine Medley. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brothers and one sister. Marguerite was beloved by family and many friends from around the world. Visitation will be held Tuesday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Don Fowler officiating.
