Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home - Marguerite A. Swain, age 94 and longtime resident of Ochelata, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, December 5, in the Journey Home, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Marguerite Ann Swan was born on April 5, 1920 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Charles Edna Swan and Lillie Belle (Bannister) Swan. She grew up in Claremore where she graduated high school. She attended RN school at St. Johns, Tulsa, Oklahoma. She later attended Tri-County Tech, in Bartlesville, where she graduated as an LPN. On November 9, 1947, Marguerite married Clinton Ray Swain in Claremore and they were married until his death in May of 1967. Marguerite was employed as an LPN with Jane Phillips Geriatrics in Bartlesville for seven years. She left that post to work as an independent oil producer. At 65 years of age, she retired from her position as an oil producer and has remained in her home in Ochelata since that time. Marguerite enjoyed many things, especially loving the simple process of picking up pecans and just being outdoors enjoying nature. In school, she was voted "Most likely to succeed" by her class. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Bartlesville, and enjoyed having her friends for Bible Study group in her home. She also participated in First Baptist Prayer Room activities. Her number one enjoyment, along with Bible reading, was her family. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Edward and Harley Swan; and four sisters, Inez Russell, Opal Howell, Zelma Swalley and Pauline Smittle. She is survived by her children, Susie Ann Brown of Littleton, Colorado, and Ed Swain of Ochelata; grandson, Bryan Milner of Aurora, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
