Marie F. Kelseaux, 101 years old, crossed over of natural causes, at her residence in Ketchum, Ok., with her two daughters present. She was born on March 4, 1910, in Springdale, Arkansas to Clarence Boyd Fugate and Fannie Maud (Wright) Fugate. She moved to Oklahoma and graduated from Skiatook High School in 1927. She went on to graduate from The Weaver Conservatory of Fine Arts at the University of Tulsa and also studied with Schuyler Sonnakalb and William Schmidt, renowned teachers in Tulsa. She married Dr. Raymond M. Kelseaux in March, 1935. For some 25 years she served on the Board as 2nd Vice President and Representative to the Oklahoma Arts and Humanities Council. She was an active member of Hyechka for decades and was honored by them with a luncheon and induction into the Centenarian Club on her 100th Birthday. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dr. Raymond M. Kelseaux and son Raymond M. Kelseaux, twin brothers Olin & Nolin Fugate, and sisters Opal Cleveland, Hazel Dooling, & Bernice Brillhart. She is survived by daughters, Judy Hanna of Ketchum, OK and husband David, and Janelle M. Ford of Great Cacapon, WV. Grandchildren Randy Wright, Victoria Goodnight, Cliff Goodnight, Melinda Ford, and Leslie North; niece Maxine Washburn, great grandchildren, and great nephews & nieces. Some of her greatest joys in life were studying, teaching, and performing music, gardening, studying Bibles, sharing her knowledge and passing on to others (especially her grandchildren) life's little instructions, and playing cards!!!! One can attribute her longevity to the fact that she was a vegetarian since 1935, never smoked, and only drank (very, very moderately) later in life; plus, she had a fantastic sense of humor (like playing ‘3 Blind Mice' on the organ at the Tulsa Oilers' Hockey games during the 1970's), and she had a marvelous outlook on aging. No-one could hold a candle to per practical jokes, especially as ‘paybacks'. Per her request, arrangements have been made to donate her body to science. A private celebration of her life will be held in the near future. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com. The Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
