Marie Thompson

Lifetime resident of Vinita, Oklahoma, Marie Thompson, age 80, died on Monday, March 31, 2008 at the OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Marie was born on November 10, 1926 to John and Grace (Davis) Doan in Estella (Vinita), Oklahoma. Marie attended the Estella School. She was united in marriage to Foss Thompson in 1963, he preceded her in death in 1985. Marie enjoyed her flower gardens and bird watching. She was a good cook, especially around the holidays, loved her family and raised her grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Eddie Thompson and his wife Beth, and Orville Hood both of Vinita, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Foss Thompson, one son Dennis Hood and eleven siblings. Friends and family are welcome to an open visitation at the Luginbuel Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Pheasant Hill Cemetery with Reverend George Vaughn officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Paul Hood, Phillip Hood, Kenny Hood, Bryce Hood, Michael Hood and Tyrel Thompson.
