Marilou Barbee Kelly, 81, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died Tuesday, January 15th, in a Tulsa hospital. She was born on June 26, 1927 to Hershel B. and Mandy V. Wright Barbee in Duncan, Oklahoma. While completing training at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa to become a registered nurse for the Cadet Nurse Corps in 1947, she married Paul Duke Kelly of Zena. They owned and operated Kelly's General Merchandise until Paul Kelly's death in 1984. Marilou Kelly also served as Delaware County health nurse for several years in the 1950s and as director of nursing personnel for a local nursing home chain in the 1960s and 1970s. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grove and an active volunteer in a variety of civic causes. She was preceded in death by Paul Duke Kelly, her husband; Hershel B. and Mandy V. Barbee, her mother and father; and her brother, John Thomas Barbee. She is succeeded by her children, Elane Seebo and her husband Tom of Plainview, TX; John D. Kelly and his wife LaVonne of Windsor, NY; Roy L. Kelly and his wife Holly of Zena; and Thomas R. Kelly and his wife Kathleen of Lawton, OK. In addition, she is succeeded by her sister-in-law, Rosalie Stoner of Sand Springs, OK, 11 grandchildren (Laura Stewart, Amanda Crum, Sean Kelly, Mathew Kelly and his wife Julia, Mary Caudill, Keith Kelly, Shannon Kelly, Kyle Kelly, Jonathan Kelly, William Kelly and his wife Christy, and Heather Kelly), and 5 great grandchildren--Lacie Griffin and her husband, Tim; Marissa Caudill; Molly Caudill; Michael Stewart; and Nicholas Crum. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17th, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK. Funeral services will be held at Zena Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2008. Interment will follow at the Zena Cemetery under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Friends and family may send online condolences at www.honoringmemories.com
