Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma, 918-786-2261. Marjorie was born September 19, 1927, in Rockford, KS , to Donald and Lucille (Mason) Bangs. Marjorie Murray, 90, died Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Grove Nursing Center in Grove, OK. Marjorie celebrated 69 years of marriage to her high school sweetheart, Jerry Murray. They were united in marriage on May 26, 1946. To this union there were three children. Marjorie was a graduate of Montrose Rural High School, and taught at various locations in Kansas, while supporting Jerry in his career and raising their children. Her teaching career began at a one room school house outside of Mankato, KS. Upon her retirement in 1987, from Coffeyville Family Practice in Coffeyville, KS, they moved to Mankato, KS. During retirement they took many trips, worked in the community with Meals on Wheels, the Thrift Shop, the Methodist Church, and selling tickets for Rock Hills High School games. Upon Jerry's passing, Marjorie moved to Afton, OK with her daughter, Sylvia and husband Dwayne Drews. Marjorie joined the First Baptist Church in Grove, OK, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Murray, parents, Donald and Lucille Bangs, and siblings; Donald Bangs II, and Catherine Cool. Marjorie is survived by a sister, Mary Powell of Mankato, KS, daughter Sylvia and husband Dwayne Drews, of Afton, OK, son Bruce and wife Teresa Murray, of Rose Hill, KS, and son Mark Murray, of Kansas City, MO, 2 grandchildren, Ryan Reiman and Trevor Reiman, 6 step grandchildren, David Drews, Derrick Drews, Annie Batten, Darren Thornton, Coty Thornton, and Liz Edwards, 4 great grandchildren, Brendan Reiman, Chandler Reiman, Macyn Reiman, and John Reiman, and 8 step great grandchildren, Dylan Drews, Natalie Drews, Andrew Batten, Izabel Batten, Aiden Drews, Tim Thornton, Marrissa Thornton, Issabella Thornton, Lillyanna Thornton, and Christopher Thornton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2019, at Harmony Methodist Church, in Mankato, KS. Memorials can be made to Montrose High School Scholarship Fund at State Exchange Bank.
