Celebrate with us the life of Mark Brehmer. For 55 years, since his birth on April 9, 1957 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, he lived with enthusiasm and vigor. To have known Mark was to know optimism in its purest form. To Mark there was never a mountain too high to climb. As a boy he overcame the grueling, healing process of a traumatic burn injury that affected a third of his young body. Even then, a smile was his most common expression. As a young man he enlisted in the Army to serve his country with honor. At 18 he married the love of his life, Vickie Meese and for 37 years continued loving his life with Vickie. Mark made a conscious choice four times to be a Dad and as such raised his four children with unconditional love and acceptance. For the past three years he has battled with and was winning a war with cancer. That in itself attests to Mark's strength of resolve and character. Mark also arose as a shining beacon and mentor to others with that illness. Family was more than a sacred word to Mark. His parents he honored and loved. His brothers and sisters, he opened his heart, his arms and his home to on a daily basis. To be loved by Mark was to know the peace and protection of being enfolded by the wings of an angel. With the light of Jesus shining through his heart, Mark truly made this world a better place. Mark died October 30, 2012. He is survived by 5 grandchildren and his wife, Vickie. He leaves three children, Tim Tully, Melissa Tully and Jason Brehmer. He leaves his brothers and sisters, Ralph, Jim and Clifford Brehmer and Pam Henkel. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Leona Brehmer. He is meeting also his son Cody Tully and two sisters Elaine Brehmer and Lu Ann Murrillo.
