Marlene Ann Watson was born on December 21, 1940 in Montgomery County, Kansas. She was the daughter of John Harvey Watson and Anna Alberta (Pittman) Watson. She grew up in Kansas where she received her education, graduating from the Wayside, Kansas High School. She furthered her education by attending and graduating from Sweetwater Bible College in Phoenix, Arizona. On August 30, 1958, Marlene and Marvin Lee Smith were united in marriage in Miami, Oklahoma. They made their first home in various places, as they traveled a great deal. They lived in Phoenix, Arizona for 32 years prior to moving to Bartlesville in 2004. Marlene worked at Agape Mission Ministry for Wayward Girls while in Phoenix. Marlene was a member of the Tuxedo Assembly of God Church in Bartlesville. She was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She and Marvin worked together in their pool service for approximately six years. She enjoyed reading, especially Bible and Christian books. For many years, Marlene was responsible for sending greeting cards from the church. She was a devoted Christian, always encouraging others in their faith to the Lord, Jesus Christ. Survivors include her husband, Marvin, of the family home; daughter, Rhoda Wengert of Glendale, Arizona; son, Wade Smith of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Jim, Carl, John, Jr. and Lee Orman. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Marlene's memory be directed to the Tuxedo Assembly of God Church, 3503 S.E. Tuxedo Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006.
