Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, Oklahoma 918-253-3222. Martha Bernice Andoe of Eucha, Oklahoma - Bernice Andoe, 82, died Monday April 17, 2017 at Claremore after a lengthy illness. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Jay, with Bro. Terry Wofford officiating. Burial followed at Mose Ridge Cemetery in Topsy, OK. Martha Bernice Andoe was born on September 15, 1934 in Claremore, OK, the only daughter to Clovis Claude Thurman and Audrey Martha (Rosenbaum) Thurman. At the age of 15, she began nurse training, a profession she enjoyed up until her retirement from Dr. Wells surgery in Catoosa in 1980. She came to the Eucha area to retire with her beloved companion and the love of her life, James Elvin Kirby. She enjoyed growing flowers, vegetables and house plants. She loved to crochet, cook, can, make chocolate dream pies and bake bread. She enjoyed her numerous cats, boating, fishing and family reunions. She was a hard worker even in retirement and when Grandpa Rollie and Grandma Roxie Kirby needed care, Bernice and Jim were there. Later when Jim's health deteriorated she lovingly cared for him until his death in 2001. Survivors are: Billy Clovis Thurman, her brother and his wife Rhonda, Kay Thurman, her sister in law and late brother Cary's widow; Jimmy Dale Kirby, son and his wife, Jennifer of Oologah, four grandchildren; Nicholas Wayne Stallings, and Angela Nicole Stallings, Joshua Jetton Kirby and Jessica Grace Kirby and numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her younger brother Cary Ralph Thurman, her children, Carol Dee Stallings and Billy Joseph Andoe, her best friend and loving companion, James Elvin Kirby and infant great grandson Gaige Allen Trimm.
