Mary Francis Baker, 87 year old former Nowata resident passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She was born February 2, 1927, in Nowata, Oklahoma to F.G. McQueen and Sibal (Billups) McQueen. She attended Nowata Schools and in 1946 married Charles Baker in Nowata. Mary was a member of the First Church of God in Nowata. She enjoyed quilting, listening to country music, collecting dolls and stuffed animals, and especially enjoyed gardening. She loved being outside working in her flowers and vegetables gardens. Mary was a very loving mother and grandmother. Caring for her family was so dear to her. She will be missed by all who knew her. Preceding Mrs. Baker in death are her parents, F.G. and Sibal McQueen; her husband, Charles Baker; a sister, Annie Martin; and a great son-in-law, Brannon Johnson. Survivors include her son Henry Charles Baker, of Nowata, grandchildren Mechelle Johnson, Henry Charles Baker Jr., Sonya Smith and husband Randall; great grandchildren, Levi Gutehnsonn, Brandon Johnson, Brittany Johnson, Reva Smith, Cody Smith, and Chris Baker; great-great grandchildren, Eli Gutehnsonn, Karma Malone, and Maeson Jones; sister, Effie Viola Crow; nephew, Fred Clayton; many other relatives and a host of friends. Graveside funeral services for Mary Baker will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2014, at Martin Cemetery with Rev. Darrel Cox officiating.
