Mary Lee Cruce passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011, at the Forrest Manor Nursing Center in Dewey, Oklahoma. She was born August, 8, 1922, in Breckenridge, Missouri, to Robert and Carrie "Stout" Parker. Mary attended and graduated from the Breckenridge School system. On January 6, 1944, she enlisted in the United States Marines and served her Country during World War II. On April 24, 1945, Mary Lee married N.H. Cruce in Raleigh, North Carolina. On October 11, 1945, Mary separated from the Marines. She and her husband moved to Bristow, Oklahoma where they lived until she moved to Copan, Oklahoma to be close to her daughter, Sharon Mason. Mary loved to garden and spend time outdoors. In the fall she loved watching her Oklahoma Sooners. When once asked in an interview how she would like to be remembered, she replied "A good American, God-loving and faith in our Country". She really did love this Country and she will be missed by all who ever met her. Preceding Mrs. Cruce in death are her parents, Robert and Carrie Parker; her husband, N.H. Cruce; a son, Bill Cruce; and a brother Robert Cruce. Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Mason, of Copan, and a grandson, Shayne Mason, of California.
