Luginbuel Funeral Home Vinita, 918 -256 -5555......... Mary Ann Downing passed away May 20, 2017 at Hillcrest Medical Center Tulsa, Ok. She was born November 01, 1951 the daughter of James and Mary Francis (McKnight) Armentrout in Vinita, Ok. Mary Ann was raised in Ketchum and attended school and graduated from Ketchum High School in 1969.She was very active in vocal music and had played the piano since she was five years old. She was a gifted and talented musician and could play numerous instruments including bass, banjo, guitar, and dulcimer. Mary Ann worked at Eastern State Hospital where she was head of the Personnel Office. Her favorite color was red. She was active with the glee club and played piano for the High School. Mary Ann was Baptist by faith and had played for numerous churches including many years at the Ketchum Baptist, First Baptist Church of Vinita and Calvary Baptist Church of Vinita. She rescued dogs, enjoyed blue grass music, crossword puzzles and reading. Mary Ann was preceded by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband Hooley Downing of the home Vinita, Ok. One daughter Shelia Flanagan and husband Scott of Morrison, Ok., Four step-daughters: Theresa Downing of Vinita, Ok., Audrey, Cheryl, and LaDonna Downing all of Tulsa, Ok, step son Dewayne Downing of Vinita. She had two grandchildren and multiple step grandchildren. Her aunt Marie McKnight of Ketchum, Ok. and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins across the state. A visitation will be held Monday 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Luginbuel Chapel in Vinita. Services will be Tuesday at the Ketchum Southern Baptist Church at 3:00 PM with Pastors Skip McClain, Kevin Lancaster and Steve Holland officiating.
