Mary Draper

Mary Irene Draper, 87 year old well known former Vinita business owner, passed away early Friday, August 23, 2013 at Saint Simeon's in Tulsa. She was born on December 19, 1925 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Fred and Mildred (Hughes) Buckley. Mary had a Bachelor of Science Degree from Oregon State University. She married Mark E. Draper on April 20, 1952 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Mark preceded her in death in January of 2002. Together they purchased Easling's store in 1966, and for nearly 25 years had Draper's Clothiers until retiring in 1990. Mary was a member of the Pilgrim Presbyterian Church in Vinita, she was also active in many other organizations including; Delphi Sorority, Oregon State Alumni, American Legion Auxiliary, E.S.H. Auxiliary, Baptist Life Care Center (family support), Salvation Army Back Pack Coordinator and numerous other civic programs and activities. She loved her grandkids, cooking and reading as well. The family includes; her children, Stan Draper and wife Debi of Vinita, John Draper and wife Robin of Allen Texas, Becky Collins and husband Jeff of Cleora; one sister Patsy Coates of Palm Springs, California and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a sister in-law Pat Bornstien of Beaufort, South Carolina. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Mark. The funeral service will be held, Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pilgrim Presbyterian Church in Vinita, with Rev. Kenneth Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
