Mary Madeline Dustin, 73, of Nowata, Oklahoma died Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Tahlequah City Hospital. She was born September 25, 1937 in Nowata, OK, daughter of Jimmy Lane and Velma Viola (Thompson) Lane. Mary grew up in Nowata, graduating from Nowata High School. Following high school, Mary began working as an administrative assistant for Phillips Petroleum. She worked off and on, in that same capacity, for various employers over the years, including in the Real Estate Office of her late husband, Don Barker. Mary's all-time favorite job, however, was being a devoted wife and mother to her children and step children. Mary was a devout Christian. Her sweet spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her and she will always be remembered for: her antiquing adventures, redoing furniture, making and delivering Christmas candies and cookies, and lending a helping hand to anyone who needed her. Mary was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Linda Lane and former husbands: Don Barker and Richard Dustin. She is survived by: 2 sons: Larry Mitchell and his wife Betty of Claremore, Oklahoma and Alan Dane Mitchell and his wife Deanna of Nowata, OK; sister, Laura Brown and her husband Gerald of Goleta, CA; brother, Bill Lane and his wife Barbara of Bartlesville, OK; 4 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren and 5 Stepchildren and their families.
