Funeral services for Mary Bessie Goodin- Guthrie are 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Watova Full Gospel Christian Center with Pastor Joe Goodin officiating. A second service will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Fernwood Assembly of God Church in Hartman, Arkansas with Pastor David Willis and Pastor Joe Goodin officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville Arkansas. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service. Mary Bessie Goodin-Guthrie passed away January 23, 2013 in Watova. She was born March 5, 1919 in Hartman Arkansas to John Henry and Lovey Mae (Morgan) Morris. She attended school in Hartman. In 1938 Bessie married Roy E. Goodin in Arkansas. After his death in 1948 she married Harvey Guthrie in 1964. Bessie enjoyed quilting and teaching children's Sunday school classes. She was one of the last charter members of The Fernwood Assembly of God Church in Hartman Arkansas and was known as the best cook in Clarksville. She loved her family and friends very much and will be missed by all. Bessie is survived by three children, Mary Elnoria McKinney of Broken Arrow, Roy E. Goodin and wife Martha of Hartman, Arkansas, Joe P. Goodin and wife Diana of Watova; six grandchildren, Sheldon Stepp of Hartman, Arkansas, Gloria Harris and husband Tim of Bentonville, Arkansas, Scott Goodin of North Carolina, Shawn McKinney and wife Bobbi of Coweta, Paula Highfield and husband Darrell of Owasso, Jolie Blankenship and husband Mike of Talala, eighteen great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a host of friends and extended church family. Bessie is preceded in death by her parents, John and Lovey Morris, husbands Roy E. Goodin and Harvey Guthrie, a daughter, Wilma McKown; siblings, Cynthia Lowe, Iva Adams, Roy "Split" Morris, Albert "Coonie" Morris, Bill Morris, Ellen Foster, Lois Harris, Ruby Rosenthal, Richard Morris, and a granddaughter, Vickie Slagle.
