Mary Luella Jordan, 98 year old, lifetime area resident passed away, Friday, June 21, 2013. Mary was born on August 24, 1914 in Adair County, Oklahoma to Charles and Dicey (Carter) Niman, where she was raised with her brother and five sisters. Mary attended school in Southwest City, Missouri. She was married to John David Jordan for sixty-two years and together they raised a wonderful family. She was a dedicated, hard working farmer's wife, she was an avid gardener who loved canning and cooking. She quilted and crocheted and sewed many clothesfor her family. She also enjoyed reading and working puzzle books. Mary was treasurer and clerk for the Whitewater Baptist Church for over thirty five years. Mary was preceded in death by her husband John, a daughter Lela Boyd, two sons, Robert Jordan and Ralph Jordan, and two granddaughters, Beverly Jamison and Rita K. Jordan. Mary is survived by one son, Forrest and wife Phyllis of Dix, Nebraska, three daughters, Velma Turner of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Phyllis Ann Berry and husband Gary of Great Mills, Maryland, and Brenda Sue Burrow and husband Larry of Grove, Oklahoma. Mary is also survived by, nine grandchildren, Donna Hayes, Lee Berry, Doug Berry, Erika Yowell, David Jordan, Christi Helsel, Wesley Cunningham, Melissa Bates, and Regina Spears, twenty great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. A visitation for Mary will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Funeral services for Mary will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Faith Mission Church in Jay, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Polson Cemetery.
