Mrs. Mary Margaret (Brown) Reed, 100 years old, died Tuesday April 11, 2006 at her home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Reed will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 15, 2005 at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Haus Miller of the First United Methodist Church of Bartlesville, Ok. will preside over the services. Funeral services are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. A memorial has been established with the Carter Hospice and those who wish to contribute may do so in lieu of flowers to the Carter Hospice, 2448 SE Washington Blvd., Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006. Mary Margaret (Brown) Reed was born in Ottawa, Kansas, June 18, 1905, the daughter of Walter M. Brown and Sarah E. (Buckley) Brown. She was raised and educated in Ottawa, Kansas. She also attended the Ottawa Business College and went to work for Warner Manufacturing Company as a Secretary after her graduation. In 1927, she came to Bartlesville to work for Phillips Petroleum Company in the research department. Mr. Winfield Herbert Reed and Mary Margaret (Brown) Reed were united in marriage February 29, 1936 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Mary spent her life as a homemaker and a mother to a daughter Marilyn Reed Morton. She loved playing bridge and belonged to three clubs. The Reeds celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1986 and Mr. Reed preceded her in death in 1992. Mrs. Reed is survived by one grandson David Morton and his wife Kim of Manassas, Virginia, one granddaughter Brenda Wenzl of Tempe, Arizona, three great grandsons Patrick, Ryan and Brandon Morton and two great granddaughters Ginger and Halee Wenzl, one sister Winifred Hart of Orange, California and many, many good friends. Mrs. Reed is preceded in death by her husband Mr. Winfield Herbert Reed, her daughter Mrs. Marilyn Morton, her parents Walter M. Brown and Sarah E. (Buckley) Brown.
