Mary Martin

Mary Louise Martin, age 81, of Grove, OK passed away at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Mary was born on June 19, 1932 in Ambridge, Pennsylvania to the late Leo C. and Freda Bickert. She was raised and graduated from New Kensington High School in 1950. She later joined the United States Navy on March 9, 1953 and achieved the rank of Yeoman Class III. During the her service, she met and married Henry W. Martin on June 8, 1956 and to this union they had four children. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Sister Leo Mary of Greensburg, PA; and brother Joseph Bickert of Orlando, FL. She is survived by her husband Henry W. Martin of Grove, OK; four children: Catherine Wilson and her husband Douglas of Mira Loma, CA, Richard Martin and his wife Karen of Hatton, ND, Heidi Lansdowne and her husband Phil of Argyle, TX, and Laurie McAreavey of Cumming, GA; five grandchildren: Gannon McAreavey, Jacque Lansdowne, Justin Lansdowne, Jeremy Martin, and Thomas Stevens; three great grandchildren; brother Leo W. Bickert of Verona, PA; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 2PM with Rev. Alex Kennedy, celebrant. The burial will follow at the Olympus North Cemetery in Grove, OK. The family will greet friends from 6PM to 8PM with a Rosary at 7PM on Thursday evening, November 7, 2013 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK. Friends and family may leave notes of encouragement by viewing Mary's Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com. Casket bearers will be Paul Elrod, Phil Lansdowne, Justin Lansdowne, Jacquelyn Lansdowne, Gannon McAreavey, and Harlan Martin. Honorary casket bearers will be John Furry, Harold Henne, Doug Wilson, and Robert Reisman.
