Mary Eloise Muncy, 91 year-old Vinita resident, died at her home on Saturday, August 04, 2007. She was born May 30, 1916 in Vinita to Robert and Virginia (Rhinehart) Thompson; they had come to Oklahoma in 1915. Her family was engaged in farming and worked with an old time thrashing machine for many years. Eloise attended grade school at Kelso and graduated from Vinita high school in 1934. She married Hugh Muncy on January 1, 1938, they were lifetime Craig County residents, Hugh preceded her in death on May 17, 2007. Hugh and Eloise were engaged in farming and ranching. Eloise was a former member of the Harmony Home Extension Club. She loved to square dance, play the fiddle, guitar and organ, playing and listening to bluegrass music, and watching basketball on television. The family includes: a step brother, Norman Nall and his wife of Tulsa, a niece Jeannie Perez, a sister in-law Audrey Boling of Vinita, and special friend and care taker, Debbie Hamilton of Vinita. A brother Glenn Thompson all preceded her in death on May 27, 1983. The funeral will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2007 in the Luginbuel Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Skip McClain officiating.
