Mary Peerson

Luginbuel South Grand Lake - Langley - 918-256-5555 Mary Kathryn Peerson, 66 year old Langley resident, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Mary was born in Tulsa on April 27, 1947, to Vernon and Evelyn Woods. On October 21, 1991, she was united in marriage to Mark Peerson. Mary loved children and worked for 38 years as an elementary teacher. In her retirement she volunteered as a tutor for the local schools. Mary enjoyed reading, being outdoors, camping, taking pictures of and spending time with her loved ones. She loved her pets, but most of all loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her loving husband Mark, son Justin Wright and wife Crissy of Cambodia, brother Vernon Woods, Jr. and wife Joan of Piedmont, sister Liz Bond of Pryor, grandchildren Zane and Izabell Wright of Cambodia, mother and father in law Lawrence and Wanda Peerson, sister in law Lori Starks and husband Ronnie of Vinita, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2014, at the New Hope Baptist Church of Jay with Pastor Stu Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
