Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, Oklahoma 918-253-3222. Mary Ann (Summerfield) Ross, 64 year old lifetime resident of Jay, Oklahoma passed away on November 6, 2016. Mary was born on May 31, 1952 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Levi and Annie (Cornshucker) Summerfield. Mary graduated from Jay High School. She was united in marriage to Bernarr Ross in Miami, Oklahoma on May 23, 1986. Mary loved to watch softball games, especially fast pitch games. Mary was a pitcher for her Uncles Women's Fast pitch team - Lake Eucha. Mary and her sister Sallie would also help other teams when they were not playing in other tournaments. Mary enjoyed watching her children play sport, wither it be softball, football or basketball. She would go support them whenever she could, not only her children, but her nieces and nephews and children from the church. Mary enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, she helped cook when asked, and sometimes with out being asked, Mary would just jump in and start helping. Mary loved volunteering at church camps and any church function from cooking to just making sandwiches. Mary especially enjoyed helping her Sister Carol at Falls Creek and Sister Diana at Family Camp. Mary liked going to Flea Markets and Yard Sales and just taking time to relax at home playing games on her tablet or phone. Mary was and had been the church clerk at Tyio Baptist Church for 12 years. She was a very faithful member, if the doors were open, Mary was there. And if there was times that she couldn't make it, she made sure her children went. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Leroy Summerfield and her Aunt Lou Alene Cornshucker. She is survived by her husband Bernarr Ross of the home, her two daughters Maggie Ross of the home, Wileena Summerfield of Jay, Oklahoma and her son Joey Ross of the home. She was blessed with her granddaughter Shay Ann Ross of the home. Mary leaves behind her sister Sallie Summerfield-Buffington of Eucha, Oklahoma and her brother Henry Summerfield of Miami, Oklahoma and her Uncle Guy Cornshucker of Jay, Oklahoma. Mary will be miss by her adopted daughters also; Shelly Downing-Tanner and Cheyenne "Nana Jo" Smith, two adopted granddaughters, one adopted grandson and one adopted great grandson. Along with other numerous nieces, nephews who were like Mary's own children. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 pm, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma. Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Tyio Baptist Church. Mary will be laid to rest at Clouds Creek Cemetery.
