Mary Jeanette Wigger, 90 year old lifetime Nowata resident died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at her daughters home in Bartlesville. She was born on March 13, 1920 in Nowata, Oklahoma to C.C. Crenshaw and Marie (Allison) Crenshaw. Mary was a 1937 graduate of Nowata High School and graduated from the Baptist State Hospital School of Nursing in Little Rock on May 30th, 1940. On September 6, 1941 in Nowata, she married Albert Glenn "Fritz" Wigger. She worked for Dr. Kiefer Davis, before taking a position with the Nowata General Hospital, where she retired as the Operating Room Supervisor in 1989 after 40 years of service. Mary was passionate about nursing and enjoyed talking about it when ever she had the opportunity. Her greatest joy in life was her family and she will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Mary is survived by one daughter; Betty (Wigger) Whistler and husband Douglas of Bartlesville, three grandchildren; Beth Beard and husband Steve of Bartlesville, Becky Armstrong and husband Steve of Bartlesville and Barbara Kane and husband John B. of Bartlesville, seven great grandchildren; Kate, Abby and Tom Beard, Jack and Ellen Armstrong and Jane and Betsy Dutcher; and one brother, Robert Crenshaw of Tulsa. Memorial services for Mrs. Wigger will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hillside Christian Church of Nowata with Pastor Ben Killion officiating. Visitation will be held at the Benjamin Funeral Home on Tuesday and Wednesday. Donations can be made to the Mary Jeanette Wigger Nursing Endowment fund at Rogers State University in Claremore.
