Mary Williams

Mary Joe (Friend) Williams, age 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 23, 2009. She resided at the Lake Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lewisville, Texas. She was born on October 17, 1928, in Vinita, Oklahoma, to W. F. and Elsie J. Friend. The Friend family donated to the city of Vinita the land where the current Craig County General Hospital is now located. Mary Joe passed as a result from her long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She married Ray F. "Tuffy" Williams on February 10, 1946, in Vinita at the Friend family home. In her 63 years of marriage she had two daughters, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Tuffy Williams, Lewisville, Texas, daughters, Carla Yocum (Bill) , Lewisville, Texas, and Cindy McComb, Dallas, Texas; one brother, Sam Friend (Donna), Bothell, Washington; grandchildren, Nicky Fryman (Brad), Lewisville, Texas, Clay Yocum, Lewisville, Texas, and Lance McComb, Dallas, Texas; great grandchildren, Bennett and Brayden Fryman, Lewisville, Texas. Preceding Mrs. Williams in death was an extended family of brothers Mike Friend and Joe Friend, and sisters Elsie Marrs, Florence Ballard, Mickey Heape, Billie Ann McDow, and Ellie Hughes. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2009, at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. The Family will receive friends on Friday August 28 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers you may donate to your favorite Alzheimer's association or Hospice organization.
