Melissa Irene Tanner, resident of Jay, OK, passed away in Tulsa, OK Monday, April 2, 2012 at the age of 44. Melissa was born on November 13, 1967 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Buck Tanner and Mary Jane (Buck) Tanner. Melissa enjoyed camping, fishing, dancing and listening to music with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by a son Russell Tanner; four brothers Sammy, Jimmy, and Eli Tanner and Richard Stick; one sister Betty Wohlford; and her parents Buck and Mary Tanner. Melissa is survived by four daughters and three sons: Billie Jo Nicole Lomax, James Evan Tanner, Melanie Lynn Lomax, Johnathan Michael Wohlford, Tammy Tanner, Jennifer Tanner, and Tyler Tanner; five brothers: Levi Tanner, Alan Tanner, Bobby Tanner all of Jay, OK, Joe Tanner of Eucha, OK, and David Tanner of Tiff City, MO; one sister Mary Hamilton and her husband Burl Lancaster of Jay, OK; and a host of nieces and nephews that loved her very much. Funeral Services for Melissa will be 2:00 PM, Friday, April 6, 2012 at the Round Springs Baptist Church with Rev. John Summerfield and Rev. Stanley Grass, officiating. Interment will follow in the Round Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6PM to 8PM on Thursday evening, April 5, 2012 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Jay, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay. Casketbearers will be Matthew Brock, Angyle Sharp, Phillip Gordon, Jerry Hamilton, David Tanner, and Jason Mouse.
