Michael "Mo" Grismore, 27, of Bartlesville, OK passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Michael Allen Grismore was born December 7, 1984 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma the son of John Richard Grismore and Theresa (Smith) Grismore. Michael grew up in Bartlesville where he received his early childhood and secondary education. Michael was a wonderful student, gaining the approval of peers and teachers alike. He was a great soccer, tennis and table tennis athlete, medaling in many tournaments and competitions including: OSSA tournaments and the Jr. Olympics. He also taught others the art of tennis at Hillcrest Country Club where he had served as the assistant tennis professional. Moreover, Michael was a tremendous individual who not only made friends easily, but kept them, as, "once you were Michael's friend you stayed friends". Following his high school graduation, Michael furthered his education by attending Oklahoma State University. An avid Cowboys fan, Michael enjoyed tailgating at various sporting events. He was also a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and it was through mutual friends at OSU that Michael met the love of his life, Heather Slate. Michael and Heather were married on June 21, 2008 in Stillwater. Since that time, Michael had completed the Master's in Accounting and Finance program at OSU and had become a Certified Public Accountant. Michael and Heather then made their home in Bartlesville, the city Michael truly loved and regarded as "home". Michael had been employed as a CPA for the past three and a half years by Ernst & Young in Bartlesville. Michael had a passion for life. He loved his God, family, friends and pets. He and Heather were heavily involved in activities at First Baptist Bartlesville where they made many wonderful friends and where Michael had grown strong in his faith. He was an inspiration to many and will be remembered as a determined, yet gentle man who accomplished so much in such a short time. Michael is survived by: his wife, Heather Grismore of Bartlesville; father and mother, John and Theresa Grismore of Bartlesville; brother, David Grismore; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Cindy Slate of Dallas, Texas; brother-in-law, Jeremy Slate; and his furry friend, Pistol. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Services to honor Michael will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Bartlesville. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
