John Michael "Mike" Campbell, 73 year old well-known Vinita businessman passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Heartsworth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Vinita. He was born December 1, 1943 in Vinita to Carl and Margaret (Hudson) Campbell. Mike was a graduate of Vinita High School and attended NEO A & M College in Miami and roomed with Tim Farris there. He and Johnny McComb were business partners and owners of Green Country Ford in Vinita for many years. Mike was very active in the community and civic organizations in the past in Vinita and Grand Lake area. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and attended many Super Bowl games, he also enjoyed drag racing, fishing, boating and being on Grand Lake. Mike's contributions to his family, co-workers, friends, customers, and Vinita are not captured by awards or money, but by his character. Mike was a good and loyal son, brother, husband, father and friend to innumerable people. He was fair, honest, and trustworthy with a sense of humor and a fun loving approach to life. As a local businessman and Ford dealer, he served his community for forty one-years always concerned with the needs of his family, employees, and customers. He sold his first car and many subsequent cars to generations of people in Northeastern Oklahoma. He learned from his father the small town values that businessmen were to serve their communities like George Bailey/Jimmy Stewart in "It's a Wonderful Life". The family includes: his wife Terrie Thompson-Campbell; his children, Todd Campbell and wife Vickie of Tulsa, Kelli Campbell of Vinita, step-children, Telly Stotts and husband Eddie of Vinita, Devin Thompson and wife Jessica of Smithfield, Virginia; his brother, Craig Campbell and wife Julie of Austin, Texas; sister, Gail Cresap and husband Denny of Grand Lake; seven grandchildren, Rachel Campbell, Alex Campbell, Kaycee Stotts, Corinne Vranas, Cody Stotts, Kylee Thompson, Chloe Thompson; his nieces and nephews, John Cresap, Amy Campbell, Micah Campbell, Nathan Campbell, Erin Campbell, and Duncan Campbell; and his special pet yorkie "Precious". The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM on Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Decemeber 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita, with Pastor Farris Downing officiating.
