Millard Lee Rogers, 80 year old longtime Tulsa resident died Friday January 7, 2011 at his home. He was born to Glen Rogers and Helen Newman Rogers Kinney on August 28, 1930 near Jay, OK where he received his formal education graduating from high school. He attended NEO A&M then transferred to Stillwater where he graduated from OSU in May of 1958. He moved to Tulsa as a civil engineer and held the position of structural engineer where he inspected dams and water structures with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers for 32 years before retiring in 1989. He and Ina Mae Wheeler were united in marriage on October 31, 1958 in Tulsa where they have lived in the same house for fifty plus years. He was a member of Victory Christian Center and enjoyed studying the Bible, especially the return of Jesus. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family, baby sitting his grandchildren and family celebrations. He and Ina and recently celebrated their golden anniversary, and his surprise eightieth birthday party. Millard leaves behind his wife, Ina of the home in Tulsa, a son David Rogers of Tampa, FL, a daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Tim Harbaugh, a grandson Alex Harbaugh, a granddaughter Kaylee Harbaugh all of Tulsa, OK, a brother, Max D. Rogers of Sturgis, SD, and a sister, Glenda Weaver of Muskogee, OK, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lloyd (Pat) Rogers of Disney, OK. Interment will be held Monday January 10, 2011 at Ghormley Cemetery at 1:00 P.M. with the celebration of Millard's life to follow at 1:30 at the Utopia Baptist Church with Pastor Bruce Edwards of Victory Christian Center officiating under the direction of Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home.
