Lifetime resident of Delaware County, Minnie January went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 10, 2012 at the age of 94. Minnie was the daughter of Watie and Nancy (Snell) Guess, she was born on July 2, 1917 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Lloyd "Bill" January on May 20, 1939 in Jay, Oklahoma. Minnie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jay. She was an outstanding seamstress; she made prom dresses and wedding gowns. Minnie also enjoyed gardening, shopping, traveling, baking pies, and working at the Café. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, infant son Donnie Dean January; daughter, Bessie Guinn, brother, Alex Davis, sister, Bessie McCarter and granddaughter, Jill Coburn. Minnie is survived by her son Lloyd January and his wife Cheryl, her two daughters Bonnie Louise Amos and her husband Gene and Kathy Owens and her husband Larry. Minnie was also blessed with nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Jay with Pastor Larry Ellis officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Bradley Ellis, Barry Owens, Dustin Pyle, Colby Pyle Jeremy Wales and Mark Pile. Minnie will be laid to rest beside her husband at Row Cemetery in Jay, Oklahoma.
