Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita - 918-256-5555 ----- Morgan Lee Daugherty, 74 year old resident of Vinita, OK, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014. Morgan was born in Marietta, TX on October 23, 1939, to Robert and Sylvia (Graham) Daugherty. On April 22, 1960, he was united in marriage to Beverly Nusz. Morgan was a hardworking man who served in the United States Air Force and spent his career as a Master Carpenter. He used his talents remodeling homes for friends and family. Known as "Papa" to his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren, he cherished every moment that he spent with them. From making practical jokes, hunting, and fishing, Morgan loved spending time with his family and friends. He always had a way to turn someone's gloomy day into a ray of sunshine, just by picking up the phone to say hello or a wave across the street. And a whistle that could be heard for miles. It has been said that the best dads get promoted to Grandpas. Morgan was a phenomenal listener, creative storyteller, and most importantly, a great friend to all. He was always there to laugh and play with his grandkids and console them when necessary. Morgan was also often the source of sage advice, a benefit of his many years of experience. One thing is for sure, the love that Morgan gave to others throughout his life is a unique treasure that cannot be forgotten. Survivors include his mother Sylvia Daugherty of Booneville, Arkansas; his daughters Debi and her husband Jeff Couls of Magnolia, NJ and Tammie and her husband Sean Hook of Schertz, TX; his grandchildren Tasha, Marceline, Morgan, and Savannah; his great-grandchildren Makenzie, Shelby, and Hailey; and his siblings Jim, Jerry, Danny, and Shirley Haley all of Booneville, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly, his father Robert, his brother Larry, and his granddaughter Sarlynn. Funeral services will be 1pm., Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel with Randy Engel officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
