Luvinia Ruth Siler, 86 year old rural Vinita resident, died Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. She was born April 9, 1921 in Sapulpa, to Josh and Lucy (Blood) Lee. Oldest of nine children, she raised two brothers, after the early death of her parents. She married Charley Newton Siler on June 9, 1941 in Vinita, he preceded her in death in 1984. Luvinia graduated from Bluejacket High School and later from LPN School. Luvinia worked at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita as an LPN and was also a CPR, First Aid and Remotivation instructor. She was also a licensed massage therapist and held a Doctorate degree as a chiropractor. Luvinia was a member the Kelso Baptist Church. She was very active on the family farm caring for her land and cattle, until the last six months at which time she moved in with her daughter. She had a passion for gardening, flowers and her family that she loved very much. Luvinia was known by her co-workers as Mrs. Siler, but as Grandma to her extended family and friends. The family includes: a daughter Charlene Thompson and husband Gary of rural Vinita; grandson, Karl and Julie Jones, their children, Jennifer, Ryan and Blake, of Vinita; granddaughter, Karla and Jason Meadors, and daughter, Joscelyn of Vinita; grandson Darryl and Chrystie Jones, their children, Amanda, Megan, Nathan and great-grandson, Gavin of Owasso, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Terri and Paul Higgins, their children, Jason, Michele, Nicole and great-grandsons, Kamden and Joseph of Vinita; grandson, Gary and Cheri Tugmon, their children, Jon and Chasity of Vinita. The family includes stepson, Jim Siler & wife, Robbie and their children, Dennis, Ester, Aaron and five great-grandchildren of Norman, Oklahoma. Luvinia had four brothers, Robert Lee, Jack Lee, Jerome Lee all of Vinita and Kinnith Lee of Mesa, Arizona & a sister, Fayetta Chalk of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Preceded in death by her parents, and a baby brother, Luden Lee, sisters Geneva Sharp and Virginia Siler. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 24, at 2:00 p.m. in the Luginbuel Chapel with Pastor Skip McClain officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
