Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK (918) 786-2261 --- Donna Myrene Fields Claxton, 67, died Sunday May 10, 2015, at Grove Nursing Center, Grove, Oklahoma. Myrene was born November 26, 1947, in Southwest City, Missouri to James Earl and Donna Marie Conner Fields. Her life from birth till death was lived within a four mile area on Cowskin Prairie except for a brief time in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina where her husband was stationed in the Army. She attended Grove Schools, graduating in 1966 and then received her associate's degree at NEO A&M College in Miami, Oklahoma. Myrene was united in marriage to Benny Ed Claxton on March 27, 1969, at Dodge Baptist Church, east of Grove, Oklahoma. They were blessed with the birth of a son, Heath Michael Claxton. Myrene enjoyed being a stay at home wife, mother and homemaker. She was proud that she was able to take care of her husband during his illness and was involved in the care of her grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and others when the need arose. She enjoyed fishing with her husband and son, boating, reading and working outdoors and living the country life. The most important things to her were God, family, and home. Myrene was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Benny on December 6th 2006, her parents Jim and Donna Fields, grandparents Earl and Beulah Branson Fields and M.L. (Bob) and Fairy Dubois Conner, aunts Bertha Teel and Delphia Lee, Uncles Argyll Conner, Eldo Fields, Kenneth Harrison and cousin Kenneth Lee Harrison Survivors are her son Heath and wife Joy Claxton, brother Keith Fields and wife Kay, nieces and husbands Lora and Dale Younger, Tina and Jay Bauer, Amanda and Jeramie Moffett, Nephew and wife Dustin and Lacey Fields, four very dear great nieces and nephews, Brianna, Tori, Emma, Laramie, Robert, and Garren Keith, Aunt Leta Harrison, all of Grove, Oklahoma, and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the Dodge Baptist Church, East of Grove, Oklahoma with Doug Rainbolt officiating, Interment will be in Fields Cemetery one mile south of the church.
