Myrtle Berniece Thompson 84 year-old Vinita resident, died Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Rosewood Terrace. She was born September 8, 1924 in White Oak to Floyd H. and Viola Mae (Pattison) Head. Ms. Thompson graduated from Bluejacket High School in 1943. She was married on November 25, 1964 to Maurice Thompson, who preceded her in death on May 2, 1980. They had Acme Cab Company in Vinita; she was the dispatcher for over 10 years. Ms. Thompson also worked in a nursing home for many years as a nurse's aide. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Vinita. Ms. Thompson enjoyed going to church, reading her bible, writing and piece quilting. The family includes: two step children, Preston Thompson of Claremore, Danny Thompson of Wichita, Kansas, a sister Thelma M. Cass of Vinita, a brother, C. O. Pattison and wife Florine of Broken Arrow, nephews, Kenny G. Cass and wife Becky of Vinita, Ronnie Pattison of Tulsa, and Raymond Pattison of Broken Arrow, nieces, Yuvonne Watt of Vinita, and Paulette Brinkerhoff and husband Allen of Mule Shoe, Texas. The funeral will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Luginbuel Chapel, with Pastor David Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
