Nancy Stanley

Nancy L. (Johnston) Andrews Stanley, 84 year-old Vinita resident, died Sunday September 4, 2011 at Rosewood Terrace. She was born, July 19, 1927 in Vinita to Lewis and Eupha (Taylor) Johnston. Nancy was a graduate of Vinita High School and Northeastern A & M College in Miami, where she received her Associates Degree in Nursing, she was a Registered Nurse. She worked many years as the director of nursing for Autumn Nursing Homes in Vinita. Nancy also taught CNA classes for many years at the Craig General Hospital, before retiring. Nancy was an active member of AA for over 30 years and helped a great number of people through their recovery process in AA. She was a loving mother and grandmother. The family includes: her son, Richard Andrews of Hot Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren, Richard Andrews and wife Jennifer of Hot Springs; Eric Sooter and wife Kathy of Vinita; Adam Sooter and wife Tona of Bernice; Terri Smith and husband Danny of Hot Springs; Kristen Pierce and husband Rodney of Overbrook, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Robyn, James and Sarina Andrews; Benjamin, Elijah, Gabriel and Noah Sooter; Whitney McWilliams, Alex Baldwin; Joshua and Jaden Gage; brother, William "Tick" Johnston and wife Wilma of Vinita; daughter in-law, Lynnda Sooter; neice, Jane Anderson and nephew, Denny Johnston. Preceding her in death: were her parents, husband Homer Allen Andrews in 1963; sister, Martha Neal; son, William Andrews and his wife Cindy and a grandson, Joshua Andrews. The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Luginbuel Chapel in Vinita, with Reverend Robert O. Weitzeil officiating.
