Nathan Hayes, 18, rural Vinita resident and beloved son went to be with the lord December 30th. Nathan is survived by his parents, Tom and Chris Hayes, Grandmother Jane Anderson and Uncle David and Aunt Marilyn Anderson of Napa CA, Aunt Connie Cleveland of Macon, Georgia, Aunt Norma Anderson of Providence, RI , Uncle and Aunt Kathy Glancy of Palm City, FL, and cousins Ross and Allison Robbins of Grand Caymon, UK, Scott and Emily Robbins of Seattle, WA, Chelsea Anderson of CA, Anderson Prince, Joshua and Paqui Prince of RI, David Prince of Washington, DC, Don and Cami Glancy and Dusty Glancy of FL and Linda Dalton of Washington, DC. Tom and Chris offer a sincere, heartfelt acknowledgement to the blessed caregivers that were so loving to Nathan. They have become family to Tom and Chris. Also, Tom and Chris would like to extend an acknowledgement to Nathan's Neurologist, Harley Morgan, M.D. Dr. Morgan provided expert, loving care not only to Nathan, but to Tom and Chris as well. For many years, Dr. Morgan was a lifeline guiding the family through the most frightening times any parent could experience. He was always there for the family, in the middle of the night, on weekends and holidays. God has blessed Tom and Chris with friends who have 'stood in the gap' and become family. Nathan loved and received comfort from his music and his books. Everyone that really got to know Nathan always commented they learned from him. Tom and Chris learned patience and persistence. The name Nathan "means" "Gift of God." Nathan was placed by God in the stewardship of Tom and Chris for a season. Nathan was an innocent. Through no fault of his own, he had many challenges. Nathan may have seemed distant, but once you came to know Nathan, as his caregivers and Tom and Chris did, one learned that he was a loving, warm and gentle soul that gave as much love as he received. Nathan gave unconditional love. Nathan loved, was loved and will be missed.
