ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, 710 S. Dewey Avenue, Bartlesville, OK---918-336-5225- Nelda M. Beaman, age 77, and longtime resident of the Copan, Oklahoma area passed away on April 25, 2014 in Bartlesville. Nelda Marie Gildart was born on July 9, 1936 in Thayer, Wilson County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Charles Francis Gildart and Sibyl Oakley (Jones) Gildart. She attended rural elementary schools one-quarter mile from the family home in Thayer. She graduated from Thayer High School in 1954 and then continued her education by taking office courses. Nelda and Robert Curtis Beaman were united in marriage on April 11, 1964 at Chanute, Kansas and they established their first home there. Mr. Beaman preceded Nelda in death in 2010 and she has continued to make her home in the Copan area. Nelda was employed in various dietary positions at Butler County Hospital in El Dorado, Kansas. She also was employed in the telephone center for Phillips Petroleum Company for approximately one year. After that she worked in the dietary department for Bartlesville Public Schools and she also was the owner/operator of Bea's Day Care Center which was located in her home. Nelda always enjoyed her work, but the thing that pleased her most was being with her family and for the past five years, she enjoyed activities with her granddaughter, Bailyr. Both Nelda and her late husband, Bob, were longtime members of the Word of Truth Fellowship Church in Bartlesville. Survivors include her children, Marion K. Beaman of Copan, Oklahoma, Fred E. Beaman and his wife, Melinda, of Rogers, Arkansas, and Paula Scheel and her husband, Bryan, of Rosebud, Missouri; one granddaughter, Bailyr Beaman, also of Rogers; brothers, Dale Gildart, also of Thayer, and Neil Gildart and his wife, Billie, also of Thayer; sisters, Lena Mae Pippin of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Norma Stell and her husband, Tony, of Bethany, Oklahoma, and Frances Wedan, of Antonito, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Curtis Beaman; her parents; son, Anthony Beaman in 1967; and by her sisters, Reve' Wallace, Doris Engstrom and Erma Gough; brothers, Paul and Ralph Gildart, and Roy Gildart and his wife, Laura Ellen. Visitation will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. The family will be present to greet friends on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM. Services for Mrs. Beaman will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 2, in the Word of Truth Fellowship Church, Bartlesville. Pastor Jim Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Elcado Cemetery near Caney, Kansas. Services are under the direction of the Arnold Moore and Neekamp Funeral Home.
