Nellie Joy Long 77 years-old former Vinita resident, died Thursday May 29, 2008 at her daughter's home in Broken Arrow. She was born July 17, 1930 in Welch to J. S. and Hattie Bertram McCoy. Joy had worked at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita on the switchboard for 29 years, retiring in 1986. She loved her family, fishing and camping, reading, and the Christmas Holiday. Joy had attended the Bunker Hill Baptist Church west of Vinita. The family includes; her children, Valerie Spaulding and husband Joe of Pryor, Sheila Falling and husband Bobby of Broken Arrow, John Wagnon and wife Linda of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, a daughter Brenda Carol Yocham on January 18, 2006, a grandson, Toby Falling on February 2, 1999, great-grandson Logan Mayfield on June 3, 2001, three brothers, Jack, John and Joe Sam McCoy, two sisters June Broyles and Jean Shear. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2008 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The graveside will be held Monday June 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery, with Pastor Henry "Skip" McClain officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
