Nerine AnnaMae (Hilburn) Kulchinski was born July 8, 1918 to Carl and Myrtle Hilburn in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She grew up in the Tiahwah and Pawhuska areas and later moved to Nowata where she graduated from Nowata High School. Nerine married B.F. Kulchinski in Marietta, Oklahoma and was a devoted wife of over 50 years, until Ben's passing in 1993. They raised 5 children on their farm west of Nowata, where Nerine enjoyed raising chickens and gardening. More recently, she spent many years being "Nana" and watching her grandchildren grow. One of her favorite past times was meeting her grandchildren down the road and going for walks. She was a Sunday school teacher at High Prairie and Adair Church when her children were small. Nerine was a member of the Nowata First Church of God. She attended the Mr. & Mrs. Sunday School class, where she enjoyed studying and contributing to the lesson each week. She spent many hours playing church hymns on her piano at home. She was a member of the Adair Extension Homemakers Club for over 50 years, and was a member of the Nowata Genealogy Club. Nerine was also active with the Nowata Senior Citizens. Through the 93 years of her life, the Lord protected, guided, and supported Nerine. Even though Nerine's health failed her during the last couple of years, and, at the end her personal trials were great due to her failing body, God didn't send her through the dark valley alone, but instead, He walked with her every step of the way. One of the more remarkable things about Nerine's journey… Nerine loved to sing, even though her memory was failing in her final years, up until her last months, she could still sing all 5 verses of her beloved hymns. The most important thing I can say about her life is that one day, many years ago, she asked Jesus Christ to enter into her heart to become her eternal Savior and Lord. That is the greatest accomplishment and highest achievement in her life. Those of you who had the privilege of knowing Nerine have been blessed by her life, for you have seen a glimpse of our Lord Jesus Christ living in her. Friday afternoon, May 11, 2012, God chose in His great mercy and wisdom to close the earthly door of life in Nerine's life. At the same moment God closed the door of her earthly life, God immediately opened the door in heaven for her to enter in; for God is with His chosen people in life and earthly death, into eternal Light and Life. We are certainly sad that Nerine has left us, but we also rejoice today because we know that promises of our Lord Jesus have been completely fulfilled in her life, and she has received eternal life. Preceding Nerine in death are her parents, Carl and Myrtle Hilburn, husband, B.F. Kulchinski, infant twin brothers, and sisters Violet Middlebusher, and Daisy Brown. Survivors include her children, Gary and wife Judi Kulchinski, David and wife Carol Kulchinski, Alice and husband Bill Curby, Ray and wife Jeri Kulchinski, Peggy and husband Claude Rainwater, grandchildren Lisa Cummings, Teri Dreyer, LeaAnn Walls, Todd Kulchinski, Jeffery Kulchinski, Audrey Crumbliss, Chad Kulchinski, Shelbi Kulchinski, Christi Horner, Brooke Davis, great grandchildren, Christian Cummings, Allie Dreyer, Thurston Walls, Aubrey Kulchinski, Jacob Horner, Kendric Douglas, one sister Neva Hicks, many other relatives and a host of friends
