Memorial services for Nettie Catherine Sprague, 89, of Nowata are at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Clayton officiating. Nettie Catherine Sprague passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the Journey Home in Bartlesville. She was born January 5, 1928 in Watova, Oklahoma to Idus and Frona (Jackson) Wesson. She attended Childers School and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nowata and Eastern Star. She loved her Priscilla Sunday School class and was very active with the church family. On November 20, 1945 she married Charley Merritt Sprague Jr. in Nowata, Oklahoma. They raised their two sons in the Nowata area. Catherine loved her husband, children, and grandchildren. They were the pride of her life and she always loved to be involved in their sports and activities. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and volunteering. Catherine loved serving others whether delivering "meals on wheels" or just helping anyone in need. A very caring and loving woman that will be missed by all who knew her. Catherine is survived by a son, Robert Allen Sprague and wife Lonetta of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two siblings, Hoyt Wesson and wife Juanita of Nowata, Joyce Robinson of Nowata; daughter in law Ramona Sprague; four grandchildren, Dana Jackson, Caren Roberts, Luke Sprague, Levi Sprague; nine great grandchildren, Casey Jackson, Zackary Jackson, Lucy Pearl Sprague, Charley Mac Sprague, Jacob Sprague, Zachary Sprague, Abigail Sprague, Logan Sprague, Seth Sprague. Catherine is preceded in death by her parents, Idus and Frona Wesson; her husband, Charley Sprague; a son, Jerry Sprague; six siblings, Billie Gene Wesson, Charles Wesson, Floyce Standeford, Ellsworth "Punk" Wesson, Leroy Wesson, Glen Wesson.
